It was awesome! Future Investor Clubs of America is an outstanding financial education training program.” Future Investor Clubs summer training program included several field trips. Mrs. Perkins explains the purpose for including financial field trips by saying that, “our students got a real life experience by going on several field trips to local banking and financial institutions.” “Students visited RBC Bank, Charles Schwab, E-Trade and a visit to the Schakolad Chocolate Factory was a real treat.” Many attendees had much to say about their FICA financial training camp experience. Roland Shorter, a 13 year old came to Winning On Wall Street training program with the Bridge to Independence Charter School located in Orlando, FL, he states that one of his highlights during the training was “designing his own American Dream Plan.” “I really enjoyed the entire financial training program, but designing my future life during the American Dream Plan session was an awesome way to learn just how expensive life can be and how important it is for me to plan early.” High school student Shakeria Brown age 18, came to her first FICA financial education training program with the Goldsboro Front Porch community organization located in Seminole County, Florida not really knowing what to expect. Shakeria says “I had absolutely no idea what the program was about but after going through the training, I now have a better idea of how to save and invest my money.” Goldsboro Front Porch Director, Mrs. Velma Williams stated that she was “extremely pleased with the training program. The training opened the eyes of all of our students and even many of the adults that participated, I highly recommend the FICA financial education training program.” Many of the students that attended the FICA Winning on Wall Street Kickoff program also registered for the Young Investors and Young Analyst Wall Street two week financial intelligence training camp programs. The youngest and one of top students in the group was a nine year old by the name of “Tianna Hightower, who according her “absolutely loved the financial training program because we went on field trips, learned how to manage our money, including how to save and invest for the future.” Mr. Parks states that “Tianna as were all of the students a joy to work with, she came to the camp with her brother Terrel and sister Tyranisha. She absolutely was one of the stars of the camp as she displayed excellent reading, comprehension and interactive skills that were well beyond her age.” Middle school student Racquel Hayles age 14, came to camp after being encouraged to by her mother and was very skeptical. “I was like, why should I spend my summer at some boring financial training camp, when I could be hanging out with my friends. I was so wrong; it was fun, the things that I learned at the Future Investor Clubs summer camp will help me achieve my short-term and long-term goals. Dahlia Hayles mother of Racquel, says simply “my daughter absolutely loved the program and wants to participate again next year.” Middle school student Willie Jones at age 11 has his sight set on playing professional baseball. However, after attending the camp on the advice of his mentor, local attorney Ralph Martin, Willie had this to say “the training program exposed me to careers and investments opportunities that I never considered, now I know that if I don’t make it as a professional baseball player I have other options. If I do make it, I will be able to manage my money wisely. Joining the many national students that participated in the Future Investor Clubs training programs where several international students. According to Mrs. Perkins, “many international students are starting to learn more about the Future Investor Clubs of America training events and programs.” That was the case for the camps top exam scoring high school student Victor Genes age 15 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and FICA Financial Wizard Award 2010 winner. According to Victor, “traveling alone from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the first time was a big learning experience, attending the camp gave me an opportunity to learn more about the American financial system and global financial markets.” Richard Nunes and Djan Madruga both also came from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Richard explains how he just could not believe how the world of business and finance works “what is fascinating to me was learning how companies go about raising money via private and public stock investors.” Djan concurred, stating that “the training was very comprehensive and informative. I can’t wait to get back to Brazil to share what I’ve learned, I am extremely happy that I came to this camp and look forward to attending my next FICA summer camp in New York.” Future Investor Clubs of America founded in 1997 is a national financial education training company designed for students ages 8-19.
