ORLANDO - Coors Light partnered with Clifford Jones Harris, known as T.I., Rapper, Actor and Entrepreneur at the Florida Classic on Saturday November 18, 2017 at the Camping World Stadium. The scholarship breakdown is $10, 000 to Florida A&M and $10,000 to Bethune-Cookman University. The scholarships are directed toward juniors and seniors who are 21 years of age and older. Coors Light joined with Florida Blue Florida Classic to kick off a tailgate experience welcoming alumni of both Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University. Coors Light has been supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) football classics through scholarships for more than 30 years. They maintain a commitment as a community leader that supports higher education. On the Coors Light calendar they have one more HBCU Football Classic to conclude the season in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Bayou Classic on November 25th between Grambling University and Southern University. They have donated a grand total of $80,000 in scholarships to eight HBCU’s this year.
After the Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University game was over, the famed Mega Hip-Hop Star T. I. performed on the Coors Light tailgate stage. The performance took place outside the Camping World Stadium and it was complimentary to consumers 21 and older that downloaded the new Coors Light XP mobile application. His appearance attracted plenty of fans and everyone was singing along to all of his Hip Hop songs. T.I. said, “The HBCUs are important to because education pushes our community forward and helps the youth to reach their fullest potential.”
