Is National Night Out!

ORLANDO - The City of Orlando is gearing up for the 25th annual National Night Out. In 2007, Orlando ranked 2nd in its category, with participation of over 300 Neighborhood Watch groups. The annual celebration promotes Police-Community partnerships, crime prevention and neighborhood safety.
The Orlando Police Department’s Neighborhood Watch Unit is encouraging all active neighborhood watch groups to register for National Night Out. The unit will be sponsoring a contest for the most creative crime prevention themed National Night Out block party.
At the August 4 City Council Meeting, Mayor Dyer will make the National Night Out proclamation and will be awarding the four winning neighborhoods with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention prizes.  In addition to the award and recognition, winners will receive a gift card from local National Night Out sponsors.
