Community Service Day
New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando will be hosting a Community Service Day, in conjunction with Feed The Hungry: November 8th from 8:00a.m.-1:00p.m. Free Hot Breakfast will be served along with Free Giveaway of household items, clothing and shoes for adults. Dr. Phillips Charities presents a free outdoor family concert in memory of Della Phillips with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestraat 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9 at Seneff Arts Plaza at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. This program is sponsored by Dr. Phillips Charities honoring the legacy of Della Phillips. She was an accomplished musician with a deep passion for sharing the arts with the Central Florida community. Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday
The City of Ocoee will honor those who served to protect freedom at its annual Veterans Day Ceremony. The event will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11 a.m., Ocoee Lakeshore Center, 125 North Lakeshore Drive. The ceremony will feature remarks from Dr. Barbara Gannon, a veteran of the U.S. Army. There will be music from the Ocoee Middle School band and flag presentations by the Ocoee Police and Fire Department Honor Guards. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony. 2019 Florida Blue Florida Classic To Air Nov. 23 At 3:30 p.m. On ESPNews  
Annual HBCU rivalry game had been televised on ESPN Classic since 2007. The Florida Blue Florida Classic will be televised at a new time and on a new network this season, as ESPN and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced Monday that the 2019 edition of the annual rivalry game between Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University will air Saturday, Nov. 23, at 3:30 p.m. on ESPNews. Scholarship Opportunity for Eligible Orlando Students
A1 Auto Transport, a car shipping and moving company is opening up its scholarship award program to eligible students in or near Orlando, Florida. For students to qualify, they must have enrollment at an accredited college, university or trade school. A grade point average of 3.0 or higher is also necessary. To enter, students must complete an essay relevant to the auto transport industry in 1,000 words or more. Each essay will be reviewed by A1’s appointed Scholarship Committee. Plagiarized essays or previously published content are not tolerated. Students can submit their essays to scholarships@a1autotransport.com along with their full name, phone number, mailing address, email address, and the name of their school. The deadline for essay submissions is March 10, 2020. At this time, the Scholarship Committee will review each essay and announce all winners on the website by the end of March 2020.
