The Fourth Annual Homeless Banquet! One Race Human Race! Simply Healthcare & City Of Orlando!
BY JIMMIE WILLIAMS
ORLANDO - I can't hold it in anymore. I just can't believe I missed this awesome event three years in a row. I said to myself, "Not this year!" I have heard great things about this event, a Homeless Banquet Thanksgiving Dinner. It was just an amazing day in District 5 in downtown Orlando, at the JB Callahan Neighborhood Center, 101 N. Parramore Ave. I think all City and Government officials should be very excited about the great event for the homeless that Mrs. Roben Dunnings of Simply Healthcare and her supporters do to make a difference in the beautiful City of Orlando. It has been Mrs. Roben Dunnings dream to make a difference in all communities. Mrs. Roben Dunnings (Simply Healthcare), Simply Healthcare, Wells Fargo and the City of Orlando really knows how to take care of the homeless and residents in District 5. The Holiday Homeless Banquet took place in District 5 where there are a high number of homeless people, but with the City of Orlando, Simply Healthcare, Wells Fargo, all the supporters and someone with a heart of gold like Mrs. Roben Dunnings who cares for everyone, the human race will be okay. I know that Mr. Roben Dunnings would like to thank Simply Healthcare Plans as the title sponsor, The City of Orlando, One Race Human Race, Big Mike's Catering, SALT Outreach for providing portable showers, Star 94.5 and the Monica May, Dolce Vida Salon, DJ Omobade, The Early Learning Coalition, Children’s Home Society, Goodwill Job Connection, Image International Photography, Hebni Nutrition, DCF, Center for Multicultural Wellness and Prevention and Creating Beauty for the beautiful decor. A special thanks to Mae Davis for her unyielding support and Jordan Pierre for his sincere dedication for the past 4 years. The goal was to serve at least 200 of our homeless and displaced families with an upscale dining experience, complete with fine China, hostesses and servers, a Resource Expo, Showers, Haircuts, HIV testing, health screenings, a Kiddie Korner, photo station, the Banquet Boutique to give away clothes, shoes and food, entertainment and raffles. The guests were graced with VIP status!
